UPDATE: June 12th, 2019. Pinterest has now increased it’s users to 291 Million.
People are loving Pinterest, and see value in joining and using the site. Maybe it’s because it’s not a social media platform where you are not subjected to political posts and bad memes from people are you have not spoken to in 10 years.
Or maybe it’s because it’s a super place to gather ideas on your next vacation, how to decorate your new house or what to wear on your next date (and purchase the outfit for that date). Whatever the reasons for joining Pinterest, you cannot deny that people are flocking to it.
Recent stats have shown that Pinterest has increased it’s users from 250 Million reported in September 2018 to 265 Million (see chart below).
This puts it ahead of Snapchat but behind Twitter, Instagram and of course Facebook. As opposed to Twitter and Snapchat however, Pinterest’s user base is still growing at a decent pace.
So what does this mean for your small business or blog (or any size of company)? Well it means that if you have a product or service that users of Pinterest are searching for (like clothing, home décor, travel & more) then you should consider adding it to your digital marketing strategy (265 million users is a lot of potential new customers).
So how do I know if I should add Pinterest to my marketing strategy? You can do a simple check in the Pinterest Search Bar and see what comes up when you type in keywords for your business. You could also see what your competition is up to. If they are on there and seemed to devoting some time to the platform, then maybe its where you should be as well.
You could also, drop Killer Diller Social a line (that’s me) and I can chat with you about whether Pinterest is a good fit for you (free of charge!).
