First up, the reason why I’m putting this helpful blog post together because it’s on the heels of a post I recently did about how a Pin I did went viral. In turn my stats & visits to my blog (the Vintage Inn) went WAY UP (read it here) and life was great. BUT just as quickly as that happened, I then saw my stats turn and run the other way (as you can see below).

I didn’t panic though because I have been here before and by following the below tips, I was able to right the ship (at least enough that I’m happy).

Pinterest stats dropping. How to fix

Don’t Panic: How to Handle a Decline in Pinterest Analytics

    Review Your Analytics

To effectively improve your Pinterest strategy through analytics, start by accessing your Pinterest Analytics dashboard. Begin by reviewing key metrics such as impressions, saves, clicks, and engagement rates. Pay attention to which pins are performing best in terms of saves and clicks, as these indicate content that resonates with your audience.

Identify trends in popular pins, including topics, styles, and formats that attract more engagement. Utilize this data to inform future pin creation by focusing on similar themes and optimizing descriptions and keywords to enhance discoverability. Regularly monitor your analytics to track progress and adjust your strategy accordingly, ensuring continual improvement in reaching and engaging your audience on Pinterest.

    Reevaluate Your Pinterest Strategy

This involves analyzing your objectives, target audience, content mix (FRESH PINS!), posting frequency, keywords and engagement tactics to determine what changes may need to be made for better results. By carefully reevaluating and adjusting your strategy as needed, you can position yourself for success on Pinterest and regain momentum in your analytics.

This process of reevaluation will pave the way for exploring new tactics to revitalize your Pinterest presence and drive higher engagement and conversions.

Pinterest Tip: Pinterest has a cool tool called “Trends” where you can see growing trends on the platform, trends for your audience and more. It is a great tool to help with content ideas.

    Exploring New Tactics

One way to explore new tactics is by testing different types of content formats, such as video pins (SO POPULAR!) or carousel pins, to see what resonates best with your audience. Additionally, you can experiment with different posting times and frequency to optimize reach and engagement.

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and try innovative approaches to capture your audience’s attention and spark their interest. By continuously experimenting and adapting, you can stay ahead of the curve and keep your Pinterest strategy fresh and effective. This proactive approach will not only help you recover from a decline in analytics but also propel your Pinterest presence to new heights.T

Pinterest TIP: Try engaging with your audience by responding to comments on your pins. Direct them to your website, blog etc. or just say “Thanks!”. It will go a long way and is a great tactic that many people don’t try.

In conclusion, navigating a decline in Pinterest Analytics doesn’t have to be a cause for panic. By taking a step back to assess your current situation, reevaluating your strategy, exploring new tactics, engaging with your audience, and continuously monitoring and adjusting, you can turn things around and set yourself up for success. Remember, adaptability is key in the world of digital marketing. As Maya Angelou once said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” So, keep optimizing and striving for improvement to achieve the best results possible.
